Suspicions denied...

I called up the Cadbury Consumer Service phone number today (AUST 1800 250 260). For the past couple of weeks, I have had my suspicions that the recipe for their Viking chocolate bar has changed. I started eating them a few months ago when the advertisements first came on TV. I was struck by their potent Guarana-flavoured taste, which I quite enjoyed.
But the last few times I have had one, it has tasted suspiciously similar to their Mars bar. This has disappointed me greatly. I notice also that the recommended retail price for the Viking has become comparable to the Mars bar whereas previously, the Viking was around 10-15c more.
Both these issues gave me reason to suspect that Cadbury had in fact watered down the recipe of the Viking and was now just serving up the Mars bar in two different wrappers.
However, the lovely Cadbury Consumer Service Consultant assured me that to the best of her knowledge, the recipe had remained the same.
Hmm…well, case closed. Back to the drawing board for me. I am sure there are other curious but less than important anomalies out there in the brave wide world for me to pursue.

You think the consumer consultant knows the recipe, or that anyone would tell her. I remember when nescafe blend 43 came out with "enhanced flavour". It smelt and tasted like somebody had burn't the beans initially and then it just became normal after awhile.
